Dear HANTX Members and Friends:

Like you, we are still shocked and filled with emotion by the tragic shootings that occurred in Dallas last Thursday. We have one of the best police forces in our country – they fight every day to keep us safe and these attacks have really hit our first responders and our community hard.

We are in close touch with our friends at the Dallas Police Association and are coordinating relief/donation efforts with hoteliers.  So many of you have asked how you can help and these are the current pressing needs:

1.  Comped Hotel Rooms for Visiting Officers and Families of the Victims

Thousands are converging on Dallas to attend memorial services, funerals, and to visit those still fighting for their lives in area hospitals. If you have ANY hotel inventory that you can donate - even just one room - please let us know as soon as possible.  We are coordinating efforts with the Dallas Police Association to accommodate these travelers as requests come in. I know that several hotels are already working with families and for that we thank you.

2.  Donations of Much Needed Funds

The Dallas Police Association recommends contributing to the Assist the Officer Foundation - Dallas, at You can also contribute directly to the families of the fallen officers by clicking on the following links:

·         Brent Thompson's family

·         Michael Smith's family

·         Patrick Zamarripa's family

·         Lorne Ahrens' family

These donations will help support with funeral expenses and assistance to the fallen officers and their families. Please forward these links to your teams and anyone you know wanting to help.

3.  Cards & Letters -

I have several friends who are Dallas police officers and I have asked them what else will be the most helpful right now.  Morale is low for our Dallas officers and a show of support and appreciation would be most welcome.  If you see an officer, thank him or her. Thoughtful letters and notes are a huge boost! Trust me, they will read your cards and letters with gratitude.Below are the addresses of all the Dallas police stations:
