Get involved!

Committees are a great way to get involved in HANTX and be an active part of our association. Your participation and input will help us remain innovative, strengthen our industry and help meet the needs of our members and community.

There are many different opportunities where you can put your time and talents to work or focus in on a special interest group that targets your work area, and you may join one or more as your interest and time availability allow.

Our HANTX Committee Opportunities:

100th Anniversary Committee

This committee is focusing in on our 100th Anniversary culminating with a special event in the fall of 2026. Its aim is to honor the legacy of HANTX by recognizing the historical contributions of HANTX to the hospitality industry and regional economic development through today. We want to build upon our legacy to elevate the image and awareness of the hotel/hospitality industry and its benefits and impact on our local/regional economy into the future and how HANTX will lead the way

There are different working groups:

Strategic Partners, Sponsorships and Outreach - Helps to identify organizations that are supportive of the hotel/hospitality industry, developing partnership opportunities with allied associations, and identifying sponsors for the 100th event.
Legacy - Gathers historic documents, photos, stories and oral history about the organization, develop a timeline of significant events for the association.
Event Team - Works with the Staff to develop a special event that celebrates the association.

Membership

Philanthropy & Community

Engaged in identifying new revenue opportunities, developing and overseeing existing/new fundraising for HANTX events, while maintaining and cultivating community relationships.

There are also different sub-committee areas of interest:

Golf Committee - Oversees the fundraising efforts and production of the Association’s annual golf tournament. Helps to analyze and tap relationships with current and prospective corporate sponsors, create sponsorship packages, recruit golf teams and individual players, solicit donations for the silent auction, solicit volunteers, and work with staff and Board to develop and build those relationships. After each event, the committee shall analyze, revise and make recommendations for the next year’s tournament. Meets monthly virtually.
Gala & HOSPY Awards Committee - Oversees the development, fundraising efforts and production of the Association’s annual HOSPY awards gala. Helps to analyze and tap relationships with current and prospective corporate sponsors, create sponsorship packages, solicit donations for the silent/live auction, solicit volunteers, and work with staff and Board to develop and build those relationships. After each event, the committee shall analyze, revise and make recommendations for the next year’s event. Event held in November. Meets monthly virtually.
Cornhole Committee - Oversees the development, fundraising efforts and production of the Association’s annual cornhole tournament. Helps to analyze and tap relationships with current and prospective corporate sponsors, create sponsorship packages, solicit donations for the raffle, solicit volunteers, and work with staff and Board to develop and build those relationships. After each event, the committee shall analyze, revise and make recommendations for the next year’s event. Event held in August/September timeframe.
Community Engagement Committee - Oversees, research and evaluates opportunities for the Association and its members to engage in varying outreach and volunteer activities within the community. The committee shall ensure that these opportunities provide the Association and its members with visibility while making a positive impact in the local community. Past activities of the Association have included working at Food Pantries, SPCA and gathering items for the NTFB and The Bridge Homeless Shelter. Meets periodically.

Programming & Engagement

Engaged in program development and planning, event coordination and management for the association.
